  • JOHN LLOYD CRUZ First Endorsement Appearance After 2 Years Is He Coming Back To The Limelight?

JOHN LLOYD CRUZ First Endorsement Appearance After 2 Years Is He Coming Back To The Limelight?

Photos and videos of matinee idol John Lloyd Cruz have been surfacing after being on hiatus from the show business since 2017.

Cruz, one of the most bankable actors of the Philippine cinema and very effective endorser once again proved that his fans are still waiting for his return. In a teaser video, which lasted only for a few seconds and only shows the back shot of Cruz’s, and posted in the Facebook page of the number one selling shawarma Turks a few weeks ago had been viewed 3.2M times, shared almost 800 times and gained a huge number of comments.

Without any clue in that teaser video, his fans already assumed that it was him in the video. Actress Bea Alonzo on her Instagram also posted a screenshot of that teaser video, which garnered almost a million likes.

This Monday morning Turks finally revealed in the 1-minute and 17 seconds video of Cruz showing the actor walking through different destinations, which somehow depicts Cruz’s sojourn. The video is very simple, yet there’s drama the way it was created, and in a very subtle shot, he stopped and took a bite of a Turks pita donner.

The rugged look of Cruz in the Turks video titled Ang Pagbabalik is way too far from his guy-next-door image and a lot of people in the industry are asking if this signals his return to the limelight. His fans are still wondering about the life he’s been living since his hiatus.

According to Turks president Gem L. Zenarosa that during the course of his talks with Cruz, they never talked anything about his showbiz career or plans. He added that he got Mr. Cruz as the latest ambassador of Turks because of his great confidence working with Cruz.

“I am really grateful that John Lloyd trusts our company, he is a brilliant and very creative young man. Aside from acting we have discovered some of his remarkable talents,” Zenarosa stressed.

The Ang Pagbabalik according to Zenarosa is actually about Turks Small Pita Doner, which will be available again in all its branches.

“John Lloyd is the best endorser for this because like him, despite his absence in the showbusiness for a couple of years, the warmth and love of his fans for him never dwindles. With our Small Pita Doner we believe that our customers will be happy to know that it is back in our menu,” Zenarosa explained.

Just like Cruz who is seen to have a different image since he last appeared in the big screen, a clear indication that the actor is recreating himself and exploring different grounds, Turks is also doing the same thing to keep its customers excited whenever they visit a branch.

In  time for the release of Cruz’s endorsement video, Turks also released to the market its newest offering — Turks Rice Bowl, which is a complete meal. You can choose beef or chicken for your rice topping, and it is priced at P50. The Small Pita Donner on the other hand, is priced at P35.

“To keep up with the demands of our customers, Turks continues to improve our menu and offerings to satisfy the discriminating taste of our loyal patrons,” Zenarosa stressed.

John Lloyd Cruz now joins the roster of endorsers of Turks such as Piolo and Inigo Pascual.  To watch the full video of Ang Pagbabalik visit https://youtu.be/Uh0WwLnIEDQ. You can also watch the video on Turk FB page: official.turks

  • Seafood dining: Seascape Village is more affordable than you think

Seafood dining: Seascape Village is more affordable than you think

The Chinese New Year, a special non-working day, is celebrated by most Filipinos by displaying round fruits, wearing ubiquitous red garments, and gathering together for sumptuous meals.

But while enjoying a relaxed ambiance with families and friends and feasting on delicious food is ideal, it need not be expensive. Seascape Village, a dining complex with restaurants and a wet market, boasts of having the most diverse and freshest seafood supply in the metro – one that is easily accessible and reasonably priced.

“Most people think that just because we offer premium experience, dining here is already expensive. Actually, what Seascape Village offers is the best value for money for all the guests. We have a wide array of restaurants to choose from that will fit everyone’s palate and budget,” said Christine Suntay, Seascape Village marketing and events head.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with feasts of the country’s freshest seafood only at Seascape Village. The wide array of restaurants offers a variety of dishes that will satiate everyone’s cravings.

On February 4 and 5, Chinese New Year’s Eve and Chinese New Year, respectively, Seascape will be having traditional Chinese performances, dragon and lion dances, fireworks display, and Feng Shui reading.

While giving guests an authentic seafood market experience – complete with tanks full of live seafood and the traditional haggling for lower prices – Seascape Village has evolved this experience into something better. The dining destination inside the CCP Complex has beefed up measures to ensure the security of its guests, wide parking spaces and valet service for convenience, and an exciting mix of restaurants.

Located along the coast of Manila, Seascape Village also offers one of the most beautiful views of the unparalleled Manila Bay sunset.

Usher in the Year of the Earth Pig at Seascape Village while indulging in the freshest seafood from around the country. Live lobsters, crabs, fish, even groupers, are available at affordable prices.

“With our guests always our top priority, we have ensured that only the freshest produce are sold here at Seascape Village, if not live, these produce are flown in fresh from various parts of the country. We also have our own ice production facility to keep cold products cold,” said Suntay.

Seascape Village brings together the treasures of the Philippine seas – from shellfish sourced in Roxas, among others, to crabs and lobsters from the Pacific coast, to groupers from the Visayas, tuna from Mindanao and everything in between, including the majestic view of the setting sun on the horizon of Manila Bay. Truly, it is an experience no other dining destination can offer.

“The best way to experience Seascape Village is to come and visit us and see and taste for themselves what we offer,” said Suntay.

Seascape Village is located between Sofitel Philippine Plaza and the Manila Film Center at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.

  • How to Make Opening Your Dream Restaurant a Whole Lot Cheaper

How to Make Opening Your Dream Restaurant a Whole Lot Cheaper

Every restaurant is someone’s passion project – at least they start out that way. The restaurant business is a tough playground and even the strong often have trouble surviving. If you’re looking to open your own eatery, you should do whatever you can to avoid putting yourself behind the 8-ball, financially speaking. Starting a restaurant business can be expensive. Cutting costs from the outset is crucial. Here’s how to kick off your adventure with saving money in mind.

Rent your space, and rent smartly

While buying your restaurant location may be your ultimate goal, there is certainly benefits to leasing in the beginning (especially if it’s your first restaurant). Rent is typically cheaper than the combo of a mortgage payment and property taxes, for one. Also, leasing a space allows you to put that extra capital toward other things such as buying equipment, decor and labor. You’ll want to negotiate a good lease, however. Don’t be afraid to push for splitting up maintenance and repair costs, or opting for a percentage-based rent structure at first.

Or take your show on the road

A new restaurant doesn’t even have to have a traditional storefront. While mobile meals have been a thing for hundreds of years, the last decade or so has seen an explosion in the food truck scene. With a food truck, your kitchen is small but your equipment and utility costs are lower. Plus, you can buy an old food truck and fix it up to your liking for fairly cheap. Not only that, but you can now go where the people are instead of waiting for them to come to you. It’s proactive marketing. Do your research, however. There are ways to save even more once you get that food truck up and running.

Be ruthless when it comes to food costs

Restaurants are won and lost on the smallest of margins, and by far the biggest place where you can save money is in the realm of food costs. Tailor your menu so that you can avoid food waste. Don’t throw anything away. Run specials. Buy bulk when you can. Begin running analytics on your food costs from day one. Know your profit margins for every single item on the menu. Don’t be afraid to make menu cuts early if something has too high of a food cost. Early is when you need to make these changes.

    Don’t overspend on marketing

It’s not uncommon for new restaurants to sink precious startup capital into what they feel is necessary, traditional marketing campaigns (TV and radio ads, print, even door-to-door flyers and such). This is a mistake, at least in the beginning. Social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and especially Instagram allow you to promote yourself for free. You can quickly and dramatically increase your followers and social reach with a few strategic steps such as partnering with another brand, using Instagram posts in blog posts and asking customers to share photos and tag you. You should also look into using the concept of pop-ups as marketing, as they are a way to promote your brand as well as make money!

    Get creative with your funding

It surely counts as saving money if other people give you money to put into your restaurant. While the holy grail of this concept is finding an angel investor or two to throw cash your way, it’s more likely that you’ll be able to get smaller investments from many more people through crowdfunding on sites such as Kickstarter and GoFundMe. Be sure to start your social media marketing campaigns before you ask for money – you want to build hype first!

Photo by Bobby Rodriguezz on Unsplash

Succeeding in the restaurant biz takes planning, hard work and a little bit of luck. It takes a great menu, cool concept and buzz around your community. But even with all of that, if you’re leaking cash from the get-go, you’re on the road to failure. Shore up your budget and focus as much as you can on saving money during the early days. To achieve your dream, you need to spend wisely.
