    Cebuana Lhuillier bagged several prestigious honors for business innovation, excellence in management, and social campaign from two international award-giving bodies, recently. The country’s leading and largest microfinance service provider has again proven its excellence in the industry receiving 13 awards from the 13th Annual Golden Bridge Awards (Globee Awards) and 6 awards from the 2021 International Business Awards (Stevie Awards).

    Cebuana Lhuillier’s President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier was recognized for his excellence in leadership, winning five gold Globee Awards, including Innovator of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, Maverick of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, and Executive Achievement of the Year.     The 13th Annual Golden Bridge Awards judging process came from 85 participating judges around the world, representing a wide variety of industries.

    Following the win of Cebuana Lhuillier in the Golden Bridge Awards, came the 2021 International Business Awards, in which more than 3,700 entries from different organizations in more than 65 nations were evaluated. The company was still able to nab awards in different categories such as Management, Entrepreneur, and PR Awards Category.

    As the country commemorates its 123rd Independence Day, Jollibee once again ignites the hearts of Filipinos all over the world with its new song titled “Pusong Pinoy.” Performed by world-class celebrities Sarah Geronimo and Billy Crawford, “Pusong Pinoy” celebrates an ever-present Pinoy Pride rooted in the Filipinos’ innate ability to give joy and hope, as well as rise above challenges by embodying the spirit of Bayanihan and helping one another.

    In the video, Sarah and Billy sing about how Filipinos spread pride and joy, with scenes depicting acts of selflessness and compassion for others specially during challenging times. And how, in this celebration of Independence, they give meaning to their freedom by sharing it with those around them.

    When asked what makes her proud of her Filipino heritage, Sarah said, “Yung mga katangian ng Pilipino ang talagang hinahangaan ko sa bawat isa sa atin. Lalo ngayon, mas nakikita natin ang pagiging matulungin, matatag, at mapagmahal ng bawat isa. Sa maliit o sa malaking paraan man, lahat ng Pilipino kumikilos para sa kapakanan ng kanyang kapwa.”

    Billy Crawford also shared how Filipinos can take advantage of their freedom to bring joy to one other. To him, holding on to the hope that better days are about to come is one way to remain inspired as Filipinos move forward. “This is the best time for us to remain humble and take everything in life as it goes.     The jersey collection promo had been one of Ginebra San Miguel’s most patronized consumer promotions. For this year, GSMI tapped non-profit organization Gawad Kalinga (GK) as its partner for this project’s noble undertaking.

    Jean Henri Lhuillier awarded Lifetime Membership by the World History Association

    In recognition of his significant contributions to education and philanthropic initiatives, Jean Henri Lhuillier, the President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, was awarded with a lifetime membership by the World History Association (WHA).

    The WHA is a professional association of scholars, teachers, and students whose aim is to promote world history by means of encouraging the teaching of history through research and publications, as well as via personal interactions.

    “I am very honored and elated to be the recipient of this lifetime membership from such an esteemed organization. You can rest assured that I will continue this commitment through my educational as well as my philanthropic initiatives, in championing for the enrichment and the learning of and from history,” said Lhuillier.

    Alongside the awarding of a lifetime membership, Lhuillier was also featured on the organization’s spring edition newsletter. He was featured for his contributions to education through the Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation’s Alternative Learning System (ALS) program which has since opened close to 100 ALS centers nationwide which has benefited more than 8,000 learners. The ALS serves as a training ground for individuals who otherwise do not have access to learning programs. These centers aim to mold responsible citizens who can be assets to the community through relevant education and livelihood training workshops.

    Aside from these, Jean Henri Lhuillier’s achievements in the academe were also given note which includes his conferment of a Doctorate in Humanities Degree (Honoris Causa) from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. His achievements as the Consul General of the Republic of San Marino and as a prominent figure behind Philippine tennis, football and swimming were also given the spotlight.

    “I strongly believe that our actions are largely affected by what had transpired in the past. This is why I also advocate for the study of history as a guiding north star when making our decisions. History has played a huge role in my life and I have benefited from it as well. It has played a huge role in my capability as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic San Marino and it has likewise influenced my decision making. Itis also one of the reasons why I am a staunch advocate of making education accessible for all,” part of Lhuillier’s quote reads.

    Siblings Billie and Ann Dumaliang call on more youth to care for the environment.

    Women are changing the landscape. Some, more literal than others. Meet Billie & Ann Dumaliang, the two sisters behind the massively successful initiative to preserve and promote the Masungi Georeserve in Rizal Province. This Women’s Month, PLDT Home tells their empowering story through the #SheConnects video campaign.

    Known to many as an ecotourism site, the real journey of the acclaimed Masungi Georeserve is a story to behold. Billie & Ann grew up loving and enjoying the scenery of their area since they were kids. Before it became a sanctuary, the assault of poachers and landgrabbers caused severe damage to its flora and fauna.

    Inspired by their mutual love for the land, and by the example of their father, the sisters took up the call to act. Billie left a profitable brand manager position and locked arms with her sister Ann and expanded their family’s efforts to fight for the land they love. The two sisters then launched an expedition to reclaim and restore the forest and protect it, at all costs.

    “There is a lot of opportunity to make a difference in the environment field. There is momentum, and while it is very difficult, it is also very rewarding and fulfilling.” Said the sisters in a recent interview. When asked about the dangers in the field that they operate in, they said, “Yes, there are indeed inherent risks to conservation work. We manage these risks through learning best practices from the experts and our mentors, and also by forming alliances. It is important to assess each situation differently and react appropriately, when the need arises.”

    Dubbed as among the ‘women masters’ for PLDT Home’s Women’s Month Campaign, the two sisters share their excitement in telling their story to inspire and call on other women to become champions of the environment, as well. Billie shares, “I am proud that even despite our physical limitations, we can do as much as men can.
