Strict safety measures welcome Mang Inasal diners

As parts of the country steadily ease restrictions on community quarantines, the restaurant industry is also preparing to resume dine-in services which have been placed on hold because of the extended lockdown.

People have been longing to enjoy a meal at their favorite dining places, but many still feel apprehensive and cautious.

Donning masks, face shields and gloves, the Mang Inasal store team is ready and committed to serve customers visiting the restaurant for dine-in or takeout.

One well-loved Pinoy restaurant that has been preparing to welcome back its loyal customers is Mang Inasal, reputed for its bestselling nuot-sa-ihaw sarap Chicken Inasal. Knowing how much people have missed their favorite Mang Inasal meals and seeking to allay their fears, Mang Inasal has set in place strict protocols to ensure delicious food and safe dining experience for their customers.

Each customer undergoes a mandatory temperature check and passes through a foot bath disinfection mat as they enter the store.

Anyone who wants to enter the store must wear a face mask. The customer’s temperature will be checked and only those with temperature of 37.5-degree Centigrade and below will be allowed to enter. A footbath disinfection mat is also placed at the entrance. Only a limited number of customers are allowed inside the store at any given time. Sanitizers are provided for customers at the door entrance, counter table and wash area for their use.

Floor markings are placed to guide customers on proper physical distancing.

In keeping with the Department of Trade and Industry guidelines, Mang Inasal is requesting customers to fill out a Customer Health Form before being allowed to enter the store.

Counter barriers keep both store crew and customers safe.

For in-store safety, physical distancing is closely monitored as floor markers set one-meter distance for counter queues. Contact-less payment is enforced with the use of acrylic cash tray and acrylic barriers. Meanwhile, foot knobs are used as restroom doors, and regular disinfection of facilities and the sanitation of workers form part of Mang Inasal’s stringent safety protocols.

Mang Inasal encourages electronic, cashless transactions.

Dine-in customers are enjoined to be seated apart for physical distancing purposes. One-meter table-to-table distance segregates diners while in selected Mang Inasal stores a table barrier is placed for face-to-face dining.

For customers opting to do cash payments, trays are provided for contact-less transactions.

Store crew sanitize the door and door handles every 30 minutes even as they pursue intensified cleaning and sanitation of fixtures and facilities. Similarly, heightened safety protocols for food preparation and handling—on top of existing procedures that are already thorough—are also being implemented. These include the crew wearing face mask, face shield, and gloves; handwashing and sanitation every hour and when necessary; and the appointment of a Hygiene Ambassador – a crew member wearing an identifying button pin and personal protective equipment and who go around reminding crew and diners of the safety measures.  The Hygiene Ambassador himself cleans and disinfects the tables after every use.

To further ensure customer safety, wrapped rice is served for unli-rice orders. Meanwhile, selected Mang Inasal stores have placed barriers on the table for face-to-face dining.

Even the serving of unli-rice has been modified for safety purposes. Those who place unli-rice orders will be automatically served two cups of rice. Should they ask for more rice, the crew in charge will provide extra wrapped rice. Meanwhile pre-portioned condiments are served together with the ordered meal.

All these show that Mang Inasal not only serves good food enjoyed by many, but it also has the safety and well-being of its stakeholders as a priority.

All open public surfaces within the Mang Inasal store are cleaned and disinfected by a designated Hygiene Ambassador.

“We know how much everyone has missed dining at Mang Inasal,” says Business Unit Head Jojo P. Subido. “As we work towards the gradual return of in-store dining, we make sure to put our stakeholders at ease by placing their welfare as our top priority. In instituting all these precautions, we kept in mind our customers’ needs and concerns so that they can enjoy the Mang Inasal experience once again—safely and comfortably. We look forward to welcoming you back to our stores.”

A designated Mang Inasal Hygiene Ambassador reminds the store team to wash their hands every hour and sanitize every 30 minutes. He also conducts the cleaning and disinfection of the dining tables after every use.

As of this writing, over 80 per cent of Mang Inasal stores around the country are open for dine-in.

Meanwhile, customers from Metro Manila can continue enjoying Mang Inasal meals by placing their orders through #7-3333 or via GrabFood, Foodpanda, and LalaFood. They can also place their orders through Jose, the Mang Inasal Chatbot in Facebook Messenger.

They can likewise go to selected Mang Inasal stores for takeout or for Park, Pickup and Go arrangements.

Few days ago, I decided to dine-in and bought meals that I am craving for it at Mang Inasal store somewhere in Paranaque. I enjoyed my dining since the store is doing their part of the guidelines during the community quarantine for the prevention of COVID-19.

  • Millennials pursue nighttime passions, hobbies thanks to smartphones

Millennials pursue nighttime passions, hobbies thanks to smartphones

For most people, 2020 will undoubtedly be an unforgettable year, not only because of the life-changing impact the COVID-19 pandemic has caused, but also how it has brought out the best in everyone, including millennials.

More than three months into their quarantined lives amid the new normal, millennials have discovered the perks of working from home—minus time-consuming and tiresome commute routines, they now have plenty of time and energy, especially at night, to pursue their hobbies and passions. Here are some examples:

    Active living

With gyms and sports centers temporarily closed, millennials are still able to sweat it out at home, thanks to online workout programs. Yoga, boxing, and high-intensity interval training are some activities they indulge in after work. And with workout apps available in the vivo app store, millennials need not worry about doing routine exercises or plateauing anymore.

    Making bread

While some people are making some “bread” out of sidelines and online freelance work, young professionals have also been making bread, literally. Ube pandesal with cheese, artisan bread, and sourdough, are just some of many creations home-bakers have been making the past few months, attributed to videos and recipes available online.

    Jamming and crafting

With their powerful processors and huge memory, smartphones like the vivo V19 Neo which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 AIE Octa-core processor and 8GB RAM, have become digital recording studios and art canvasses which young artists use to create content—even remotely collaborating with other artists—and promote their work online.

    Gaming

Gone are the days when one had to buy consoles just to play the latest games with friends. Today, smartphones’ gaming features, such as the vivo V19 Neo’s Ultra-game mode and Multi-Turbo Acceleration Technology, enable lag-free gameplay and gaming optimization, allowing millennials to fully immerse in virtual worlds and be hooked to online games.

    Capturing twilight

With plenty of subjects to shoot at home and a magnificent and ever-changing background in the night sky, millennials have discovered endless possibilities to look for art in the dark—especially with devices that can capture clear and stunning images despite low-light. Such is the vivo V19 Neo, whose super night mode and super night selfie algorithms harness a 32MP front camera and rear AI quad cameras, to reduce noise and enhance clarity in the dark.

Take back and ignite your night

These are just among many passions that millennials have explored in the first half of the year. Have you explored your night-time passions already? Take back and ignite your night with the all-new vivo V19 Neo, now available at vivo’s flagship stores in Shopee and Lazada for just P17,999.

  • Five Types of Dads We Love to Spend Time with at Home Now

Five Types of Dads We Love to Spend Time with at Home Now

Dads may differ in personalities. There are those who are strict, lenient, and there are those who are very quirky and playful. But there’s one common characteristic that we love about them: they will always have a funny “dad joke” or two on-hand whenever we need them.

Before being quarantined at home, dads were busybodies, waking up at five in the morning and going to work for their daily grind. However, the situation in the past few months has required them to stay at home, finding ways to adjust to their new normal, thus exposing and unveiling his all-so-unique charms and quirks for the cringe-worthy enjoyment of the whole family. With Father’s Day around the corner, here’s a tribute to the types of dads everyone has encountered during quarantine:

    The BTS (Behind-the-Scene) Dad

He’s the kind of person who loves to work behind the scenes – lenient enough to let the kids discover new things on their own and amply quiet when the wife takes the centerstage for the talk (LOL!). Now that he’s working remotely at home, he’d spend most of his days in his “hidden-from-the-kids” station, answering emails on his laptop, attending online meetings, and even spending sleepless nights catching up with tasks. He does it all to provide for the family during these trying times. And while he is certainly working behind the scenes at home, he knows when to take his breaks and spend time with his family – whether it’s sharing meals on the table, helping the kids with their home studies, or enjoying a relaxing afternoon with his wife.

    The Mom’s Right-Hand Man

Dads love food and there are those who are a natural pro at cooking and know their way around the kitchen. But there are also dads who have spent quarantine trying to level up their cooking skills and watching cooking videos online. He is the type who brings his phone to the kitchen, with the latest cooking video playing as he cooks and follows the recipe. Often, the mom and the kids have to stay by his side and make sure he does not make a mess in the kitchen.

    The Home Masterchef

Dads love food and there are those who are a natural pro at cooking and know their way around the kitchen. But there are also dads who have spent quarantine trying to level up their cooking skills and watching cooking videos online. He is the type who brings his phone to the kitchen, with the latest cooking video playing as he cooks and follows the recipe. Often, the mom and the kids have to stay by his side and make sure he does not make a mess in the kitchen.

The “Peer-ent”: Ever reliable peer everyone runs to

These days, dads have adopted a new and modern parenting style known as ‘peer-renting’. This allows them to become their kids’ trusted friend, being the one they run to for helpful advice, for when they are heartbroken, or for when they feel down. He is the best at communicating, has a unique humor, and knows the right words to lighten the mood. During quarantine, he has been listening to his kids’ stories, relearning their interests and joining in their favorite activities – whether it is bingeing a TV series or playing a video game.

    The Hypebeast Dad

He is the type of dad who is always excited to share the hype at home. He has probably bought the newest video games and gadgets, and stayed up all night playing with his kids. He also loves being updated with the latest online trends so that he will never miss out on a fun discussion at home. As embarrassing as it can be, he even knows TikTok challenges and is always game to record if he gets the chance. Truly, it is the dads who have made life in quarantine easier and better for the family with their corny jokes and dance moves to show. And with strong connection powered by PLDT Home, you can celebrate with them on his special day and make more fun moments by watching the most viral pranks and enjoying online trends he’d surely want to add to his long list of funny stunts.
