In celebration of Nurses Week 2025, MARIANO MARCOS MEDICAL HOSPITAL AND MEDICAL CENTER (MMMHMC) has organized RUN FOR RESILIENACE 2025, themed “Innovate, Advocate, Transform: The Nurses’ Blueprint for a Changing World”, held on October 26, 2025 at City of Batac, Ilocos Norte.
I successfully participated the Run for Resilience 2025 which celebrates health, unity, and resilience while honoring the invaluable service of our nurses to the community.
During the event, the runners strides together toward a healthier and stronger community, a 5K distance fun run.

This capacity to bring people together takes center stage at the Asia Stage of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2025. From October 15 to 19, 2025, illustrators, writers, publishers, and thought leaders from across Asia will gather to share their stories, celebrate their craft, and showcase the richness and diversity of Asian literature to the world.
The Asia Stage is the vision of Rex Education, brought to life in partnership with Frankfurt Buchmesse and supported by the National Book Development Board. Its journey began in 2018 as the ASEAN Forum, evolved into the ASEAN Stage in 2019, and in 2024, it embraced its current identity: the Asia Stage. At the heart of this initiative is Atty. Dominador D. Buhain, Chairman and President of Rex Education. His lifelong passion for literature and publishing has guided this vision from the start. As a co-founder of the Asia Pacific Publishers Association and the ASEAN Book Publishers Association, he has long believed that the stories of Asia deserve a wider audience. Through this initiative, he has sought to open doors for publishers to share works that mirror their nations’ creativity, hopes, struggles, and resilience.
For REX, the Asia Stage has grown beyond a program. It has become a brand, a symbol of years of dedication to supporting Asian publishers and content creators at one of the world’s most important book fairs.
This year, with the Philippines as Guest of Honor, the Asia Stage brings a deeper dimension to the country’s participation. There is no party like a San Miguel Oktoberfest party. The most-anticipated beer festival kicked off at Okada Manila last September 20 to 21, 2025. As San Miguel Beer celebrates its 135th year of serving great beers around the world, San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) brings back the fiesta vibe that made the event an iconic spectacle.
Over 8,000 revelers flocked Okada Manila’s Crystal Pavilion during the two-day event filled with an array of specially crafted beers paired with top-notch food offerings over pulse-pounding music from a powerhouse lineup of top local acts.
The festivities were opened with a toast led by SMB President Carlos M. Berba, San Miguel Pale Pilsen Brand Ambassador Coco Martin, and Okada Manila Vice Chairperson Takako Okada. The event kicked off a series of San Miguel Oktoberfest Events which will happen at the Paseo de Santa Rosa in Santa Rosa, Laguna on October 18, 2025 and at the Queensland Manor in Cebu City on October 31, 2025.
SMB lit up the famed integrated resort as guests were treated to complimentary beer samplers curated from San Miguel Beer’s global portfolio of brews as well as exciting new brews including India Pale Ale, Fruity Wheat Ale, Summer Ale and Specialty Lager.
Pop-ups lined the Crystal Pavilion’s signature winding walkway with gourmet restaurants Las Flores, Café Fleur by Chef Sau, Flipside Burgers, and Purefoods Deli setting up shop while SMB’s new Draft Beer Mobile Bar Truck added more to the overflowing beer at the venue. Party-goers also took home plenty of limited-edition San Miguel Beer merchandise to remember the epic event.
The San Miguel Oktoberfest party rocked to some of the country’s top acts including Rico Blanco, Lola Amour, December Avenue, Maki, Arthur Nery, Brownman Revival, The Dawn, Autotelic, The Juans, Over October, The Cohens, Paprika, DWATA, Carousel Casualties, It All Started in May, Magiliw Street, Sean Archer, Acapellago, DJ Chelsea, and DJ Rammy.
More good vibes went around when recently crowned PBA All-Filipino Cup Champions, the San Miguel Beermen, shot hoops with Oktoberfest party goers. Billiards legends Efren “Bata” Reyes and Francisco “Django” Bustamante also played an exhibition match and challenged revelers who dare to showcase their pool table skills.
The night wasn’t just a celebration, it was a memory-making spree where every sip and souvenir captured the spirit of San Miguel Beer.
