The Grand Float Parade 2025 was held on February 09, 2025 at J. P. Rizal St. (In front of Aurora Park & Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol, City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Grand Float Parade is one of the activities of Pamulinawen Festival that most watched or viewed by the diverse persons in Laoag City and other diverse communities. The participants were thrilled in unveiling or showcasing their creative and artistic floats, that was applauded by the huge audiences during the Grand Float Parade 2025 at Pamulinawen Festival 2025: PREVAIL!
Hon. Michael Marcos Keon, Mayor of City of Laoag, led the Grand Float Parade 2025, together with Vice Mayor Rey Carlos Fariñas and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod namely Hon. John Michael Fariñas and Hon. Roger John Fariñas. Led the parade on the first float, accompanied by a stunning array of 12 small floats and 26 big floats.
The members of the Board of Judges are Arch. Arnold Palagua Dabo, Arch. Dacia Nicael P. Salva, Arch. Naomi Raisa S. Aquino, Ms. Jem Juan Gaoiran and Ms. Loejai Lopez, the Chairman of the Board of Judges.

The Pamulinawen Festival 2025: PREVAIL! – Calesa Parade 2025 was held on February 07, 2025 at J. P. Rizal St. (In front of Aurora Park & Ilocos Norte Provincial Capitol, City of Laoag, Ilocos Norte.
Calesa Parade 2025 in Laoag City is part of the Pamulinawen Festival 2025 that represents of the city’s rich cultural heritage, and remarkable that reminds the importance of Calesa in the diverse community and beyond. Calesa is a cultural heritage mode of transportation of the diverse people in the community and a source of livelihood of the contingents in Laoag City. Besides, Calesa is considered as attraction of the local and international tourists, and this will bring success and increase or promote tourism in Laoag City.
The successful event was witnessed by Mayor Michael Marcos Keon, Vice Mayor Rey Carlos Fariñas and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod namely Hon. Jeff Fariñas, Hon. Roger John Fariñas, Hon. John Michael Fariñas, Hon. Derick Lao and Hon. Juan Conrado Respicio II.
According to Mayor Keon, each calesa, meticulously decorated with indigenous materials, colorful ribbons, and traditional Filipino fabrics, exuded an air of nostalgic elegance. The horses, adorned with intricate braids and tassels, pranced proudly, embodying the grace and grandeur of a bygone era. The parade itself was a spectacle of creativity and craftsmanship.
The calesa drivers guided their embellished carriages through the streets, showcasing a stunning array of designs and themes. Some calesas boasted motifs inspired by the city’s history, depicting scenes of
Laoag’s colonial past and its journey to the present. Others celebrated the natural beauty of the city, with floral arrangements and indigenous materials.

Interested participants are thrilled to join the 160-km Freedom March to Honor WWI Heroes.
The legacy of valor and sacrifice continues as descendants of World War II Filipino and U.S. veterans, alongside military personnel, government officials, members of the diplomatic community, students, and families, take part in the annual Freedom March. This historic event commemorates the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Bataan and honors the heroic endurance of those who endured the infamous Bataan Death March.

Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB), in partnership with the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) and the Department of National Defense (DND), will once again lead this solemn tribute on March 1-2, 2025. The 160-kilometer commemorative walk traces the exact historical route of the Death March, starting from Mariveles, Bataan, and concluding in Capas, Tarlac.
“The Freedom March is more than just a walk; it is a moving testament to the courage and sacrifice of our World War II heroes. As we retrace their steps, we ensure that their stories live on, inspiring future generations with their legacy of resilience and patriotism,” said Mike Villa-Real, PVB First Vice President for Marketing Communications and Consumer Protection.
Civilian marchers who joined the 160-KM march from Mariveles, Bataan to Capas, Tarlac.
The Freedom March mirrors the route taken by approximately 66,000 Filipino and 10,000 American prisoners of war. The path stretches from Mariveles and Saysain Point in Bagac, Bataan, to Camp O’Donnell in Capas, Tarlac. This historic route connects us to the past, turning each step into a tribute to our brave WWII heroes that shape our national identity.
To encourage wider participation, participants may choose to join specific segments of the march at their preferred starting points in any of the three provinces of Bataan, Pampanga and Tarlac. This will allow individuals from different backgrounds to join in this act of remembrance.
“Every step taken in the Freedom March is a step of remembrance, gratitude, and commitment to ensuring that our heroes’ sacrifices are never forgotten,” Villa-Real added.

Mayor Michael Marcos Keon, City of Laoag, mentioned that the Pamulinawen Festival 2025 commenced with the vibrant Civic-Military Parade with a participants of estimated to be more than eighty thousand (80,000) individuals with enthusiastic onlookers lining the parade route and those who gathered at the plaza to watch the festivities.
