Why we need to guard or protect our body, especially, our underarms against germs and viruses in the environment as we actively doing our daily activities in general which may possibly the causes of skin allergies, body odor and other skin diseases?
The germs & viruses transmitted in our body and the food & beverages we eat or drink are possible effects of body odor due to excessive sweating. With this, aside from good hygiene of taking a bath regularly to make our body keep refreshing and using clean clothing in our daily lifestyle, we also need to choose the food and drink we in take to our body and of course using a recommended scents and deodorant products that could prevent excessive sweating to our underarms as we are confidently doing our important activities related to personal or business matters.
I know a man who actively use scents by Unilever to keep his body Audacious, XO and Engaging (AXE) every time he goes out in attending meetings with his associates and parties with his friends or relatives in any of the valuable locations or rendezvous in the community.
AXE ICE CHILL is Axe’s freshest fragrance yet made for Men. Its scent is composed of natural watery notes and enhanced by Frozen Mint and Lemon which leaves you smelling fresh. Axe Ice Chill Body Spray also has instant cooling benefits that cools your skin by up to 11C so you can stay cool and confident any time.
AXE ICE BREAKER is the clean and refreshing scent of Axe with the aromatic freshness of icy lemon and mandarin. It cools your skin down by up to 11 degrees to help you #KeepYourChill.
Keep Your Chill as Unilever Beauty Store goes up to 50% off at Shopee’s 7.7 Mid-Year Sale! For me, I recommend AXE deodorant brand to keep your body Audacious, XO and Engaging (AXE) as cool and confident any time.
Working toward a cleaner future does not happen overnight. It is a joint, continuous effort, involving partners and communities, meaningful initiatives, and everyone’s individual steps. Added up, all these actions create an enormous impact. Unilever, the makers of well-loved brands like Breeze, Domex, and Surf, has partnered with Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in the region, and the Haribon Foundation to drive actions towards a better, cleaner future through Unilever’s “Linis Pilipinas” campaign, where millions of Filipinos across the nation can take action for a clean future.
Armed with the purpose of providing convenient access to sustainable Home Care products, Unilever kicks off Linis Pilipinas, Unilever Home Care’s Super Brand Day Sale this June 10-12 on Shopee. The Linis Pilipinas initiative brings to life Unilever’s global Clean Future strategy announced in 2020, with a bold goal of transforming Unilever’s Home Care brands and products to become better for people and the planet, all powered by purpose and innovation.
Redefining Sustainable Packaging
During the Super Brand Day Sale, shoppers can get exclusive vouchers of up to 15% off and free shipping on their favorite Unilever products, making sustainable options more accessible and affordable. At the same time, they can also enjoy the satisfaction of knowing they are supporting advocacies and initiatives geared toward creating a lower environmental footprint. Surf, Breeze, and Domex bottles are now made with 100% recycled plastic, taking away as much as 9 million plastic bottles1 from landfills or waterways. Steps toward improving and optimizing packaging have also been taken to prevent the use of excessive plastic, with education on collecting plastics and flexible packaging simultaneously being rolled out through over 400 barangay partnerships and social media content. This is not just an opportunity for Unilever, but for Filipinos, to make that shift in behavior and to take that step in a better direction.
Committing to a Sustainable Future
The efforts for achieving sustainability and giving back to the community continue, even after every purchase. A portion of the proceeds during the Super Brand Day Sale will go to Haribon Foundation, furthering Unilever’s starting point of planting 1,250 trees. With this, Linis Pilipinas shoppers can help reduce carbon, promote cleaner living, and help regenerate natural habitats. The Linis Pilipinas microsite on Shopee will feature a real-time live counter showing just how many trees will be planted through each and every shopper’s act of purchase, marking their contribution to reforestation.
“Finding partners that advocate for genuine and science-based forest restoration has been a challenge in this pandemic. With our partnership with Unilever, we are able to continue our efforts in restoring our country’s depleting forests as we both believe that the communities themselves are the best stewards of our forests. Together, we hope to empower and transform communities, who through the forest restoration campaign, will be provided livelihood and capacity development on basic ecology, rainforestation technology, and forest monitoring,” shares Maria Belinda de la Paz, COO, Haribon Foundation.
Forming Sustainable Habits
Unilever understands that achieving sustainability and a cleaner future isn’t just one act done today, then easily forgotten tomorrow. “Linis Pilipinas” aims to empower Filipinos to form a habit of caring for the environment and the future. Educational efforts include a micro-site on Shopee dedicated to spreading awareness, trivia, and information on environmentally friendly practices. Purchasing Unilever products during the Super Brand Day Sale can also come with free eco-friendly items that help shoppers be a step closer to achieving these goals, such as upcycled sponges, tote bags, bamboo toothbrushes, and silicone bowls. These reusable,
rewashable, and upcycled items, combined with the digital educational efforts, will go a long way toward forming greener and cleaner daily habits at home.
“We know that everyone working together towards a clean future is the way forward in addressing the environmental and social challenges facing us right now. As Filipinos, we can start with our home, our communities, and more importantly with our individual actions and choices. Unilever acts as a partner in connecting groups like Shopee and Haribon Foundation to the people that share vision of a better, cleaner, greener world. With Linis Pilipinas, we continue the mission of making sustainable living commonplace for all Filipinos,” shares Vanessa Ong, Unilever Philippines Marketing Director for Homecare.
“Shopee is pleased to collaborate with a purpose-driven company such as Unilever, to help achieve their sustainability goals and give back to our communities. With a deep understanding of consumer behaviour and trends in each market, Shopee will work with Unilever to develop localised initiatives that will help to raise awareness and encourage our shoppers to do their part in creating a cleaner and greener community for everyone. We look forward to driving more of such meaningful initiatives with our brand partners in the future,” said Martin Yu, Director at Shopee Philippines.

Why Aliw Awards? This is the question that came first in my mind when I have heard or read about the Aliw Awards Foundation Inc. (AAFI). In relation with the questions: “What’s this Aliw Award? What’s in it for an aspiring live performer?” of Enrique P. Romualdez to the Founder and President of AAFI, Alice H. Reyes which apparently, the wife of a high-ranking Marcos official had asked him to ensure that a certain live performer would received ALiw’s top award, the Entertainer of the Year award, back then during eighties, that year.
Alice H. Reyes
Ms. Reyes had answered Mr. Romualdez inquiry that since the Aliw Awards Foundation was the first ever award-giving body to give due recognition to the country’s live entertainers, receiving an Aliw Award, particularly the Entertainer of the Year award, for a live entertainer, was considered a definite plum because the goal of an entertainer is not only to entertain but also to receive the acclaim of his or her audience , manifested through the applause given him or her. In other words, it is the recognition of their excellence in their craft, the satisfaction in the knowledge that they have “arrived”, so to speak , the adulation of their audience manifested through their applause.
Let’s go back to the Nominations for 2020 Aliw Awards which was revealed last October 31, 2020. The coverage of performances is from November 01, 2019 up to October 31, 2020. 2020 Aliw Awards Night will be held on December 08, 2020 at the Fiesta Pavilion, The Manila Hotel.

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, continues its strong support for brands with the 10.10 Brands Festival. As more businesses explore the potential of e-commerce during the pandemic, Shopee is committed to providing the optimal environment to help brands of all sizes launch, scale, and succeed online.
Three leading brands share how they utilize Shopee’s robust suite of marketing and operational solutions, including in-app features and big campaigns to accelerate their business growth online.
Unilever realized the potential of Shopee’s in-app features with its Beauty That Cares Campaign last August. Through ShopeeLive, Unilever spread awareness for its advocacy to help small and local businesses affected by the pandemic. Unilever also uses other Shopee in-app features like Flash Deals and marketing solutions to reach a wider audience and build a seamless and shopping experience for their consumers.
Jackie Mañago, Digital Commerce Marketing Manager at Unilever, said, “With the recent health crisis, we saw how consumer priorities have shifted and had to re-think the brand experience and find new ways to engage consumers. Thanks to our solid partnership with Shopee, we quickly adapted, strengthened our presence, and continuously served our shoppers amidst the pandemic.”
Despite the limitation of selling channels during the pandemic, Realme routed its focus on e-commerce and gave more importance to offering affordable devices for communication, e-schooling, and work at home with Shopee. Realme was also able to amplify its exposure and increase its sales by using Shopee’s marketing services like ShopeeLive, banners, and campaigns.
Eason de Guzman, Marketing Lead at Realme Philippines, said, “Through ShopeeLive, banners, and the famous Gadget Zone, we have been able to maximize our exposure and provide the best offers in our exclusive launches. Their platform creates a positive and inviting atmosphere, encouraging brands to participate in their campaigns. Since our partnership with Shopee began, we have seen stronger sales, whether it’s a launch or sustaining.”
Since the start of the quarantine period last March, Alaska has been working closely with Shopee to boost their brand presence online. Alaska took advantage of Shopee’s highly visible in-app spots such as the flash deals section, marketing tools, and big campaigns to promote their products. With Shopee, Alaska saw 10x growth compared to last year.
Marx Benedict So, Digital E-Commerce Manager for Alaska Milk Corporation, said, “Data and media are the lifelines of e-commerce. Thanks to Shopee, we can check which of our ads and products perform well using the marketing tool. Segment buys also play a crucial role, especially if there will be an upcoming campaign as these can increase awareness and convert consumers who are not yet exposed to the brand.”
Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines, said, “At Shopee, brands form the backbone of our business. We have built a strong record of helping brands overcome business challenges and shift to online seamlessly with our strong ecosystem of solutions. We launched the 10.10 Brands Festival, the region’s biggest online shopping event for brands, to provide brands the needed visibility to further scale their business online. We have also expanded our offerings to help our brand partners find success online, and we will continue to do so to support and empower brands to capture immense growth opportunities in the Philippines.”

Shopee announces the region’s first partnership program with five of the biggest media agencies to help brands amplify their online presence
Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, is expanding its initiatives to help brands and retailers launch, scale, and succeed online, starting with its annual Shopee 10.10 Brands Festival. As more brands and retailers step up their digitalization efforts to capture a growing proportion of online-first consumers, it is crucial for brands to find new ways to reach and engage with their consumers.
This 10.10 Brands Festival, Shopee enhances its support for brands with the launch of its Shopee Media Agencies Partner Program (SMAP) covering seven markets[1]. This strategic program is the region’s first and largest of its kind, comprising five leading global media agencies: Dentsu Aegis Network, Omnicom Media Group, Publicis Groupe, Havas Group, and Mediabrands.
Through this program, Shopee will equip media agencies with in-depth knowledge and skills on using Shopee’s suite of brand marketing tools, including advertising solutions such as Shopee Ads, products such as in-app branding assets, and other value-added services. Shopee will also provide the media agencies with a deeper understanding of e-commerce sharing best practices on store management, campaign execution, and optimization. As brands invest more in growing their online presence, SMAP will enable media agencies to leverage a broader range of e-commerce tools to maximize the return on investment of their clients’ media spend.
Also, media agencies and their clients will have the opportunity to get exclusive first-hand access to Shopee’s new marketing solutions and products.
Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines, said, “We’re encouraged by the growth in the number of local and international brands joining Shopee Mall, who trust and rely on Shopee to sustain and expand their businesses. Helping our brand partners make a seamless transition online, amplify their online presence, and boost brand affinity has always been a priority. We’re excited to launch the SMAP program, which complements our existing end-to-end support system for brands to achieve success online. We will continuously innovate our platform to deliver better value for brands and their customers.”
Amplifying online presence with strong marketing and operational capabilities
Aside from SMAP, brands can further elevate their online presence and scale their e-commerce business with Shopee’s strong ecosystem of solutions:
Robust logistics and warehouse solutions: Shopee’s strong logistics support enables brands to fulfill their orders with ease, especially when sales volumes are high. Brands can tap on Shopee’s optimized network of warehouses to ship out orders more efficiently, including the use of data to forecast demand so that brands can better allocate their resources.
Easy-to-use brand marketing tools: With Shopee’s custom-built Shop Decoration Tool, brands can easily customize the layout of their Official Stores to reflect their brand image and identity. This is especially useful for brands to build authentic connections with their customers through enhanced brand storytelling.
Building stronger connections with customized engagement features
As more consumers seek greater entertainment while shopping online, brands can leverage in-app features such as Shopee Live to bring together unique entertainment, real-time interactions, and instant purchases. Shopee can help brands produce live-stream content and has dedicated brand support teams to customize engagement strategies to achieve optimal results.
For instance, brands familiar with e-commerce, such as L’Oreal, are constantly exploring ways to engage their consumers better. At the recent 9.9 Super Shopping Day, Shopee worked with L’Oreal to host an extended 3-hour live streaming marathon featuring over 8 Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) across the region, which successfully garnered over 180,000 views.
On the other hand, Shopee also offers tools tailored for brands who are newer to e-commerce or do not have prior experience with online engagement strategies. For example, the Shopee KOL program pairs brands with popular influencers for their brand live streams, contributing to boosting the brand’s visibility and sales.
