    P&G and Shopee Collaborate to Encourage Fair Division of Household Chores in Latest #ChallengeTheChores Campaign

    Procter & Gamble partnered with the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia Shopee, to launch its latest campaign as part of this year’s International Women’s Day. Titled #ChallengeTheChores, this campaign responds to the global call for us to challenge gender stereotypes by fostering a sense of joint responsibility within the household and encouraging family members to team up and tackle household chores together.  

    The campaign will be progressively launched across five Southeast Asian markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam, featuring a series of challenges that aim to inspire families to take on household chores together, such as doing the laundry and attending to a child’s needs. 

    Since Covid-19, 75% of caregiving chores have fallen on women, with several extra responsibilities and commitments added to their already busy lives. To further illustrate the importance of addressing this need for shared responsibility, the campaign will feature a video of how household chores can be equally divided and tackled together.

Through this campaign, we want to raise awareness of the imbalanced distribution of chores.     When selling a house, one phrase that’s in the market is curb appeal. Everything is about curb appeal. Potential home buyers make snap decisions based on the outside appearance of the house, and while it may not be enough to make them walk on a house, they definitely take the curb appeal into consideration. For any potential seller, curb appeal is one of the most important things to make sure your home has plenty of. A seller wants a buyer to see the house and immediately feel at home, and having sagging or torn screens, dead plants, or dirty house paint are immediate signs of not properly taking care of a house. Luckily, there are simple ways to up curb appeal.

    1. Pressure wash the outside of the house and the driveway. Even if you think the house looks fine, take the time to either pressure wash it yourself or have it professional power washed. It is amazing the amount of dirt and grime that can come off of houses, and the house will stand out compared to the others in the neighborhood. Same goes for the driveway. Even if you think it’s a driveway and looks fine, take the time to pressure wash it and the walkway to the front door. Removing years of built-up dirt and grime will do wonders for making the house stand out compared to others in the neighborhood and on the market.
    2. Replace broken or torn screens. There’s nothing good looking about a torn window or patio screen. Take an inventory of your entire house, start with the porch and see if there are any panels that need to be replaced immediately. Then go through and check each window. As you are checking, if they appear dirty, go ahead and clean them up. If the porch panels are ripped or torn, they’ll need to be replaced immediately. Luckily, repairing torn porch screen panels is easier than ever and something that can be done DIY.     4. Repaint the front door. This is something homeowners may not think of, but repainting the door can add a fresh pop of color. Most doors get a lot of sun, and they also collect dirt and grime, so before painting make sure to wash the door off to remove any bugs and dirt. Then, choose a paint color in a shiny finish. Matte will cause the door to look dull, whereas a shiny finish will help it to really pop. Depending on the house color, homeowners may opt for a bright pop of color or a dark even black color to make the door stand out.
    5. Keep up with the yard. Don’t let the yard get overgrown while the home is on the market and take the time to mow and edge to ensure that all the overgrown grass is removed. One thing that no one wants to see when they pull up to a house is an overgrown yard. Even if you followed all the steps above, a messy yard can make them wonder if the house is well taken care of. If there are trees, make sure that the leaves that have fallen from it are fully raked up and that the yard looks trim and clean.

    Shopee’s robust ecosystem ensured buying and selling remained seamless even as shopping activity peaked during 9.9 Super Shopping Day. Sellers and brand partners leveraged Shopee’s integrated logistics network to fulfill their orders. Simultaneously, users enjoyed seamless transactions with a wide array of payment options on Shopee, including its mobile wallet ShopeePay.

    Shopee also offered a super collection of entertainment throughout 9.9 Super Shopping Day. Users enjoyed all-day fun and earned special rewards with Shopee’s supersized range of in-app games, with 250 million water requests on the crowd-favorite game, Shopee Farm.

    Users actively tuned in to Shopee Live to connect with celebrities, sellers, and brands during the 9.9 Super Shopping Day period. The number of hours spent watching Shopee Live streams increased 3 times from an average day, highlighted by countdown and marathon streams on September 9 that celebrated 9.9 Super Shopping Day with users across the region. Shopee Live also gave users new ways to discover and shop the latest trends, with 2.5 times more items purchased during live streams in this period compared to an average day.

    Highlights of 9.9 Super Shopping Day in the Philippines

    9.9 Super Shopping Day was also a major success in the Philippines. Home & Living was the most popular product category on September 9 as Filipinos turned to Shopee to spruce up their household.

    Filipinos from all walks of life made the most of 9.9 Super Shopping Day to meet their shopping needs, in line with the increasing importance of online shopping during the new normal. In particular, men actively shop for smartphones, while face masks were hot favorites among women. Home decors were very popular among users aged 18 to 34, while users aged 35 to 50 mainly shopped for eyeglasses.
